SAFE MOVING & HANDLING  - LEVEL 2

This Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling is intended as an introduction to moving and handling activities for those starting work, returning to work or needing specific training in manual handling.

Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, employers are required to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to employees – this includes suitable training. This course helps employers meet this requirement.

Who should attend

This course is suitable for all employees regardless of the nature of their work but has particular relevance to anyone who’s role involves manual tasks. Delegates gaining this qualification will understand that moving and handling must be carried out correctly and recognise its importance.

What you will learn?

​

The qualification provides an effective means of ensuring that employees are aware of their responsibilities and have understood the principles of the safe moving and lifting of loads. The course combines both the theoretical and hands-on elements of the subject and teaches the basic techniques to lift, carry, push and pull objects safely, so reducing workplace injury.

Course Duration

The course is delivered over one day.

 

Assessment and certification

​

Delegates are assessed throughout the course and via a short multiple-choice examination paper.

Upon successful completion candidates are awarded a certificate valid for 3yrs.
